I'm baaack + Tanya & Ryan: maternity

Wow...ok so I've been a very bad blogger lately. A lot of you know what's been going on, but to sum it up, I had to have a minor surgical procedure that was a test to see if I'm going through with a bigger surgery. The hope is that it will help with the chronic pain that I have in my back/legs since I fell almost 3 years ago and caused lots of damage to my poor body! Soo....I will be having the surgery, but I'm waiting to find out the date...once I do, I will let everyone know if it will impact my shooting schedule at all.

So, apparently I need a little accountability with my blogging. So this is what I'm going to do... I'm going to blog 5 days a week through the month of March. The first week will be Sun, March 1st to Saturday, March 7th. If I don't blog 5 days, the first person to "bust" me via email will receive a free photo session! If you aren't local, we'll work something else out. I have tons of "old" sessions to blog, as well as current sessions, and lots of changes and fun things coming up. I hope that in the next month I'll be able to unveil the new blog too!!

Now, to share a session I did recently. This couple was referred to me by 2 of my clients - Michelle and Kristy - thanks you two! They will each receive a free 8x10 and so will Tanya and Ryan! My business is completely built on referrals so I am more than happy to rewards my referrers and referrees - I probably just spelled that wrong...and made up words of my own...haha. Anyway, Tanya and Ryan are expecting their first baby very soon. I met them at the park to document "the belly." We had a good time and I hope y'all like the pics!

The Daugherty Family

In November, I had a session scheduled with this family for holiday (card) pictures. They live down in Supply, so I met them at their house and then we went to Holden Beach. It was one of the first chilly days and the kids were so not feeling the beach! We tried and tried but it just wasn't happening, so we headed back to their house and finished the session. We should've just done the whole session there because the kids were so much more comfortable in their own environment and I think the pics turned out great! I even got the most wonderful email from the Dad's sister in Chile! She loved them and said the pics brought tears to her eyes. Yea! Well, I don't like for people to cry, but if it's because they like the pics so much and they evoke emotion - then I am thrilled; so thanks Renee for the feedback! Ok onto the pics....

Once again, I gotta say doing the pictures at their house were so much fun and I highly recommend it for families in the future. Your pictures will definitely be different from anyone elses because they are at your own house - where you spend the most time. I know anytime I look back at pics from when I was young, some of my favorite ones are in our house - it's fun to look at the background and see how things were decorated, and like I said before, kids are so much more themselves at home. Ok anyway...onto more pics....

Whew! That was close!

I didn't blog yesterday. There, I said it. I was really busy during the day and I was planning to do it last night. Yea that didn't happen. I was supposed to go to a meeting at school last night at 7pm, we went out to grab a quick bite to eat when Brian got home. I wasn't feeling the greatest, but I didn't think much of it, but I didn't eat a ton. We did a little shopping afterwards and I told Brian that I REALLY wasn't feeling good and we needed to get home.  Let's just say it's a good thing we got home when we did - after getting sick a few times, I headed to bed and dozed on and off. While I was waking up this a.m. the first thing in my mind was..."OMG, I didn't blog yesterday!!"  So I was happy to see that my inbox was empty - nobody busted me..haha. So today I have to finish editing a wedding today..... but I wanted to share one sneak peek from one of the maternity sessions I've done....   This is Tanya....  (lots more to come soon!)

Sunday = Family

I love Sundays! For the most part, I try not to schedule any sessions on Sundays and for forever...sundays are family days. It might mean just going to the grocery store with my boys - which we did today; dinner at my parent's house or watching a movie together. Oh and of course, Sunday is also God's day and we try to go to church together as a family. Although sometimes we go to Mass on Saturday night (like last night). Anyway, tonight we had dinner with our friends (which are like family) including baby Aiden. I went out to their house the other day and did some pics, but we were all tired after a few hours, so we decided to take a few more tonight. I'll post more pics from the whole session later this week along with some sneak peeks from some recent maternity sessions and of course, I'm still playing catch up from the end of the year.

The letters in the picture were made my Aiden's Grandma....I think they're so cute!

And now....I'm off to bed with a headache - blech! But I did blog again..woo hoo!

Dreamgirls

Whew! I am barely going to make my self imposed goal of making a blog post (by midnight) of each day for a week!! I just got in the door from a fun night out with the girls. My mom, sister and friend Jessica went to see our dear friend Colandra in the starring role (Deena Jones) in the local play/musical, "Dreamgirls!" She was absolutely fabulous. She has a wonderful voice and such amazing stage presence. I know that she is going to go far. I remember the first time I got together with her and took some pictures...I had no idea she knew how to work it - such a nice surprise! Here's a couple from last spring....

And finally, my mom thought to bring her camera along so she snapped a couple after the play of us girls together...

We love you Colandra!! I can't wait to take the pics for your album cover :) :)

The Other Side of The Family

I used to work with Jenny. My Mom still does. She has been very supportive of my business and I'm so grateful! Last spring, I photographed Jenny's family with her inlaws. Then in November, I photographed Jenny and her whole side of the family. All of the families (on both sides) are so awesome and very nice to yours truly. I shared a couple of pics on another blog post from this session - you may remember the Lollipops!

So here's the whole family...
