IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Hey everybody. I’m not sure how to write this, so I’ll just jump right in. Most of you know that Katie has had a lot of back and leg issues since she fell three years ago. Due to recent medical complications, she has had to take an unexpected leave of absence from her business.

Beginning today, June 22nd, Katie Mathews Photography will be closed for 4-6 weeks. Please know that this decision was not made lightly and I will give updates as they become available. If you have sessions scheduled, orders pending, or just general questions outstanding, I will be contacting you on an individual basis. If you have not heard from me personally by Friday the 26th, please send an additional email to diana@katiemathewsphotography.com.

During this time, I will also be going over the survey results from a couple of weeks ago and announcing the winner of the free session (to be scheduled at a later date).

Her photography business means the world to Katie and she is having a very hard time being away from everything. However, it is imperative that she take this time to get healthy which will ultimately serve her clients better. Your prayers are welcomed and encouraged during this difficult time.

Baby Haylie

I've had a couple of clients have babies in the past couple of weeks, so I thought it was a good time to share a couple of the newborn sessions I did a month or two ago..(yes I'm still doing catch up blogging). I loved the maternity session I did for Brock and Amanda. They are the sweetest couple ever...we got along so great and laughed the whole time! Baby Haylie was a little fussy the day of her newborn session but we still got some great pics...she's such a dolly...I can't wait to see her again soon :)

Because I did their maternity and newborn session, they got a FREE mini session at the hospital. I also edit those pics that day so that the parents can send them out to their family and friends ASAP.

This beautiful lady is Grandma...I thought it was Amanda's sister!

The Karsbergs

I'm getting settled back in at home and trying to get the house and my business back in order....it's been hard to get focused but I'm slowly getting back to "normal." So I appreciate everyone's patience as I get orders fulfilled and proofs done.

I thought it was about time to share some sessions again....  This was a really awesome session. I got a call from a friend of a friend.... she and her husband have been living in NC for business for the last 2 (?) years. They are actually from overseas...I can't remember where each of them are from specifically but they both have cool accents and at the end of May they were moving to Spain..so they wanted some pics to remember Wilmington and the beach. I had never met them before our session so I was pleasantly surprised that they were so fun and easygoing and willing to do whatever I asked.

Thanks Fiona and Harald for a wonderful session..I wish you the best in your new home!

Home Sweet Home

We are back from Minnesota and it feels good to be home. I missed my boys terribly and I missed my bed!! Yesterday was Anthony's kindergarten graduation, so I didn't get a chance to rest at all until yesterday afternoon and I completely crashed. I was snuggling Anthony on the couch around 6:30pm and conked out sitting up - that's not exactly normal for me. I think I ended up getting about 16 hours of sleep in the last 24 hours! I needed it. Anyway....I have 2 shoots this weekend, but other than that, I'm still basically out of the office until Monday. I will get caught up on my emails, orders, session proofs etc. Once again I thank you for your thoughts and prayers and patience with me during this sad time. I made a slide show for my Grandma's wake/funeral and wanted to share it here for any of you that knew my Grandma or just want a peek into what a great woman she was.
