Busy Busy Busy...

Just wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know I am working nonstop as fast as I can....I'm behind on edits and blogging and it's not for lack of trying. My family will tell you they only see me at the computer or headed out for a photoshoot. In any case...2 weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing a small/intimate afternoon wedding for Natalie and Daniel and then that evening, I travelled to Burgaw to do a family session (see I told you I'm busy! haha) I'm hoping to have these 2 sneak peeks up on Monday, but in the meantime, here is one from each event.

Thank you to all of my clients for your patience. Oh, did I mention that after 5 hours of work today my computer crashed and I lost my work? Don't worry, I didn't lose any images...just the work I had done to them....arrrrggh. Oh and just FYI - I have tons of back ups of every session - so no need to worry that I will ever lose your images :)

Our Family

So I was born and raised in Minnesota. When I moved to NC, I met my hubby. His cousin, born and raised in NC met a guy from Minnesota, married him and now they live up there (ironic huh?) Ginger and Collin just had their first baby - James. (Collin has 2 children from a previous marriage). They all came down to Kure Beach for a week so everyone could meet baby James and I was honored that they asked me to take some family pictures. Ginger (the mommy) has one sister Angie who has a son, Harry. He was in some of the pics too with his cousins.

Thanks guys for having me...hopefully we'll get to see you in MN in August! Enjoy your sneak peek (it's a little long....I got carried away.haha).

A couple of weeks ago, my wonderful assistant (my sister, Diana) and I shot a fairly small wedding here in Wilmington. The location was at the beautiful UNCW Wise House (a big ole mansion!) They didn't have a big wedding party, just themselves and a best man and maid of honor and about 75 family and friends. The weather was mighty hot, but clear - guests could spend time indoors or out. There was a slight change in plans, so the wedding was held later in the evening on the porch, but everything was still nice and I think we captured it well.

The Sawyer Family

You may remember a while back that I took baseball pictures for 2 families. Well, we had our family session last week at the beach. They live in Burgaw, so they usually go to Topsail beach so it was fun for them to have their pictures done at Wrightsville Beach. The boys were really good and they didn't get too wet. I on the other hand got soaked!! But the picture I was trying to get was worth it!

Happy Father's Day! (and the ordering problem)

Happy Father's Day to all of you fathers out there - especially my hubby, my daddy, and my father in law. We love you!

I believe I have found a temporary solution for my ordering problem. The tech guys are STILL trying to fix it, but in the meantime, you should be able to order like normal - it's just the back end that has been adjusted. So, if it's not too much trouble, when you place an order in the next few days, please send me an email and let me know. That way I'll be sure not to miss any. Also, if you have placed an order in the last 10 days and I have not contacted you, please place it again and send me an email. I apologize for any inconvenience and I appreciate your patience!

Finally, I have been super duper busy and I have lots of blogging to do. So I thought it appropriate to end today's post with a picture from one of my recent family sessions - a daddy and his boys! The rest of this family's sneak peek should be up tomorrow!

Still down..

Just a little update - my ordering system is still down and my web company says they are working on it. I hope it is fixed SOOOON! I know many of you have been trying to place orders and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. There are 2 ways you can order at this point. #1 - Order like "normal". Add your selections to the cart and click on check out. Put your info in there and submit. IF you receive a copy of your order, all you have to do is forward it to me at katie@katiemathewsphotography.com. If you do not receive a copy of your order, then you will have to do choice #2 which is when you select an image you would like and click "add to cart" a gray box comes up. At the top of that gray box is a file number. It is usually the last name of the family dash a number. Write down that number and manually email me your list of file numbers with your sizes you would like to order. (You can email me or call me).

Again, I'm really sorry about this, so I appreciate your patience and cooperation. Thank you!!

Problems

Hi all-
Just a quick post to let everyone know that my website is experiencing some technical difficulties with the ordering system. I had to upgrade the editor and now things aren't working properly, but I'll let you know as soon as it is fixed. So if you placed an order today or yesterday, I didn't get it. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Danielle + Senior Session

Last week I met Danielle and her Mom for a senior session. Danielle is going to be one of my senior reps (basically she earns free prints and other stuff - and gets a free session - and in turn she tells all her friends how awesome I am and they come get their pics done by me :)) Anyways, I knew Danielle's mom already and when she showed up with her gorgeousssss daughter I was so excited to get started.

We met downtown and spent about 45 min down there - found some cool spots. Then we headed to the beach where Danielle changed clothes (twice). It was not hard at all to get great pics of this beautiful young woman - and her personality matched too!
